The 7 Elements of Art are:
1. Line - The path of a dot through space
2. Shape - An area clearly set off by one or more of the 7 visual elements of art
3. Form - An element of art that refers to an object with three dimensions
4. Color - What the eye sees when light is reflected off an object
5. Value - The lightness or darkness of a color
6. Texture - How something feels or looks like it might feel
7. Space - The distance or area between, around, above, below, and within things
The 7 Principles of Design are:
1. Balance - Arranging the Elements so that no one part of a work overpowers, or seems heavier than any other part
2. Emphasis - Where the viewer focuses or the focal point
3. Unity - Is the quality of wholeness that is created through using the Elements and Principles correctly
4. Contrast - Refers to the difference of any of the Elements
5. Rhythm - Is the regular repetition of the Elements of Art to produce a visual beat
6 Pattern - The repetition of any of the Elements in a design
7. Movement - Shows actions or the path of the viewer's eye follows throughout an artwork
Alongside the Elements square, they were to decorate and list the 7 Principles.
