Right now we are working on our Drawing Unit. Our objective is to learn different drawing techniques and exercises to advance our drawing skills. Students learned about all of the 7 Elements and how to represent them visually. In their artwork they showed the Element, creative examples, and definition. I chose the top 30 most creative and neatly designed projects to be laminated and put up on the bullentin board outside the art room. Right now, we are learning about the Elements of Art. Below are the 7 Elements that we use in art everyday:
**Elements of Art - the basic visual symbols an artist uses to create works of art 1. Line - the path of a dot through space 2. Shape - an area clearly set off by one or more of the elemtns of art 3. Color - what the eye sees when light is reflected off an object 4. Form - an element of art that refers to an object with three dimensions 5. Space - the distance or area between, around, above, below and within things ** 6 different ways to show space in drawing: Size, Overlapping, Placement, Color/intensity, Perspective, Detail 6. Texture - how something feels or looks like it might feel 7. Value - the lightness or darkness of a color |
