For our clay project this semester, I wanted to try something new! (Always trying to keep it fresh ;) I came across these amazing, brightly colored sculptures that are made down in Mexico. They are called the Alebrijes, and are either of one or many mixed animals/ creatures. The original Alebrijes are carved out of Copal wood from Mexico. They are painted with vivid colors and patterns. Aren't they fun?! Check back for the finished products! We made them out of clay and are painting them now :) |
