Here they are up in the display case! They are very well done!
Students were to create a head out of a hollow sphere made from clay. We used baseballs to construct two semi-spheres, joined them together, and then they added their features. After they were fired in my kiln (large oven to bake clay), they painted them using acrylic paint and then spray glossed them. They also wrote a narrative in first person to go along with their head. Here they are up in the display case! They are very well done!

Ms. Sullivan, my last student teacher did a very cool 'hand's on' project ;) All students worked in groups or pairs to help each other create a plaster copy of their hand. They worked so well together putting the vaseline on their hand and applying each strip of plaster. It took only one class period and was a lot of fun! After the hands were plastered, they then attached them to a board and creating a painting on and around the hand. They came out very creative and each were very unique! See below the process of making the plastered hands... |
