This week was a big one for the Wise Wolves! They got to come to the art classroom all week and go compete in the Special Olympics on Wednesday!! We did some different chalking pieces inside and outside this week- had to take advantage of the nice weather! For the rest of the week we worked on the same picture where we layered different materials. The rubbing templates were especially fun, since they created such neat textures on our paper!
They turned out all so unique and beautiful! Since tomorrow is Valentines day, we made cards for our valentines! We talked about what symbols are associated with Valentines day like hearts, XOXO, and the colors red and pink. Their cards came out so well and I can't wait for their special Valentine to receive them!
This week Wise Wolves came to create some more art!! This week we talked about what a background is, watercolor paint, different painting materials, color mixing, and symbols that represent peace.
They each got to use different materials to paint with such as: sponges, toothbrushes, fan brushes, regular paint brushes, and q-tips. They explored how each can be used differently and how each has different mark makings. This project was for experimenting in color making, layering, and mark making. I think they had a lot of fun and their paintings turned out all so beautiful and unique! After creating our backgrounds, they attached different symbols of peace like doves and peace signs. They took those back to Mrs. Miller and Mr. Adriance classrooms to finish them. I will post finished products later, so stay tuned! This week of Wise Wolves Art we mostly focused on the Fall season. We did leaf rubbings, construction paper trees, hats, and monoprints! Happy Friday! For our last day in art this week we celebrated the color BLUE! This is the last primary color that makes all other colors. We learned about Picasso and how he used blue in his painting of "The Old Guitarist". So today we made blue guitars! It was also special that today was spirit Friday and we all were showing our school spirit wearing our blue!
Today we celebrated the second primary color, Yellow! We talked about what things are yellow and got to relax and color a sheet of those objects. Thanks to everyone for wearing yellow and making the classroom extra bright!
